Details

Starting in the wild gardens of a beautiful mansion, where monkeys and tropical birds can be seen, we hike up a steep forested path for 2.5hrs to the entrance of the iconic statue, standing at 710m above sea level.

The trail can be described in three sections – the first is a zigzag through the splendid Atlantic Forest with a fairly easy inclination. This leads us to a challenging uphill climb to give us the elevation needed for the spectacular view we are rewarded with, of the South Zone of Rio (Ipanema, Leblon, Jardin Botanico), the Rodrigo Freitas Lagoon in its entirety, and the golden beaches lying next to the Atlantic Ocean. The final stretch of the hike is following the very top of the sinuous road that takes us directly to the entrance to the statue.

- Transport to and from the trail
- Entrance to Statue
- Bilingual guides specialized in the activity, equipped with communication radios
- The necessary safety equipment for the activity (1st aid kit, repellent, lamp and walking pole)
